How to Get Started
I am glad to answer any questions you may have about the counseling process before you make a first appointment. You may call me to learn more, or we can schedule a 15 minute consultation.
When we’ve decided to work together, we can schedule a first session. “Paper”work is filled out online in the client portal. Once your paperwork is complete, all you will have to do for your first appointment is show up!
What to Expect For Your First Appointment
I ask a lot of questions during the first session to get to know you, to understand the issues that bring you to counseling, and to clarify where we need to go with counseling. I will also give you some time to share whatever you would like me to know.
Rates
$210 First Session
$140/hr after first session
Workshop and group fees vary.
Insurance
I am able to submit to Aetna, Cigna, and Optum through the 3rd party biller Alma. I can guide you in getting signed up for insurance submission through Alma. You will have both an Alma portal for insurance/billing, and a client portal with me.
Out-of-Network
With all other insurances I am out-of-network. The full fee will be due at the time of session, then I will provide the necessary paperwork to submit to insurance for reimbursement. Your insurance will then reimburse you directly according to your benefits.
* Insurances that are government supported do not allow me to submit out-of-network (Medicare/Medicaid, State health plans, Military plans) .
Please check your coverage carefully by asking the following questions when you consult on coverage with your insurance company:
What are my benefits for out-of-network mental health?
What is my deductible and how much has been met?
What can I expect to be reimbursed once my deductible is met?
Is approval required from my primary care physician?
Are telehealth sessions covered?
Payment
Credit cards, FSA/HSA cards. Checks accepted from partnering organizations (see Partners below).
Cancellation Policy
24 hours notification is required to avoid a fee if you need to cancel or reschedule. This includes not showing up for a scheduled therapy appointment, or not notifying me 24 hours in advance.
Referrals
Referring Professionals may contact me by phone to inform me of someone you would like to refer, and ask any questions. I will continue communication with the client’s permission for the sake of continuity of care. I do not set appointments through the referring professional unless it is not possible to speak with the client.
Partners
I partner with churches or other organizations who wish to assist clients with payment of sessions. Arrangements for this are set in a financial contract with the assisting organization.
